Bitácora de vuelo
7 days to observe yourself
At school we learned to read, add up and find countries on a map. Almost nobody taught us to read ourselves. This log is a first flight inward: seven days, one short exercise a day. The Bitácora is in Spanish for now; sign up and we will send you the English edition as soon as it is ready.
What you will do
- 1Read your instruments. Start with the simplest one: what you are feeling.
- 2Autopilot. Notice one reaction of yours that repeats, without stopping it.
- 3"Yes, but not me". The 24-hour rule before you reject an idea about yourself.
- 4The story you tell yourself. Find one line of your narrative, and one time it didn't hold.
- 5Confirm the message. What good waiters do about confirmation bias.
- 6What was always there. Three things you had never noticed on a route you take every day.
- 7Landing. Your map of the six instruments: where you see clearly and where you don't.

Flight rules
- 5 to 10 minutes a day. No more.
- Observe, don't correct. This week you only read your instruments.
- No judgement. Nothing you find is "wrong": it is information.
- If you skip a day, just carry on with the next.
